CW1GM - Amateur Radio Special Event Station, Punta del Este, Uruguay for the 2011 International Marconi Day, organized by the Cornish Amateur Radio Club in England.. Team operators affiliated to Radio Grupo Sur, Montevideo, Uruguay.

(This year still the only So. American station active from a Marconian historical, and 6th consecutive year activating this place) where spark station MMO worked since 1908. Marconi came to Punta del Este just 100 years ago in the septentrional summer 1910-1911 for two months. Unfortunately, there are no remains of that old station or office building. Nice condx in 28MHz all day, 7MHz, 15 Mhz, local 2M VHF ham bands despite menacing weather and certainly lots of fun!. 73 de Horacio Nigro CX3BZ.
