  • It's called the "pay-off point" in the music industry when the music transitions to a completely different tangent (sometimes called a bridge). You've heard it before in all of your favorite songs. A common trick is to take the chorus and modulate it to a perfect 5th or perfect 4th above the original key. Sometimes it just takes a whole other direction and is often called a "bridge". However, this term isn't usually used in the other arts like painting, sculpting etc...
