  • If you are going to have a video on Miranda rights, at least make it accurate, and not biased toward hiring a lawyer.

    In addition to the right to remain silent and the right to consult with an attorney, it is a Miranda right to insist on not being interrogated, even if you do not ask for an attorney.

    Also, "custody" does NOT merely mean not free to leave. During a traffic stop or vehicle checkpoint stop or Terry stop, a person is in custody, but the officer need not read Miranda rights.
