My teenage years have had some big challenges.
As a teenager, you struggle with issues like friends, boys, and figuring out who you are. It's meant so much to me to have Karen as my life coach. She's helped guide me through these years and helped me discover the strength and purpose that was always there inside me.
Karen:
Since 1993, I've had the privilege of coaching hundreds of individuals from middle school through college students, and new managers through executives and CEOs. But my passion lies in coaching teen girls and young women towards some amazing results. It's so rewarding to me to help them find their voice, achieve their dreams, and become confident women. I enjoy seeing clients get inspired to do more than they thought possible.
Jerry:
As a single father, I relied on Karen to be almost like a second Mom to my daughter. She helped us with her wisdom and her support every step of the way. I'm so proud of the young woman my daughter has become.
Karen:
My personal and professional experiences are what make me an excellent life coach. My PhD, two Masters, and 17-year corporate experience have helped me understand the dynamics at play in young women's lives. I'm also a certified Teen Wisdom life coach. Being a mother myself with teenaged children in a blended family has certainly been a mirror for my work.
Karen:
Teen girls, in particular, are facing all types of challenges these days such as dealing with boys and friends, to questions about themselves and their future. Two main areas we address in my life coaching are Independence and Identity. As teen girls struggle to find out who they are as an individual and push to gain more independence from their parents, this can be a challenging time for both the teen and her parents.
Karen:
My approach to life coaching incorporates assessing one's self, setting goals, taking action, receiving support, and gaining accountability. I've helped young women make good decisions about relationships, gain more confidence, increase grades, get organized in their school work, plan for college, and even dealing with death of a loved one.
Jerry:
I was worried about my daughter and how she would cope with losing her mother, but I can see how she's grown into a strong, beautiful young women. Karen really helped in this process.
Karen:
I named my company "Finding Your Pearls" after the metaphor of the pearl creation. A grain of sand irritates the oyster which then transforms it into a beautiful pearl. Like that grain of sand, our life has its irritants, challenges, and obstacles. But these "irritants" can develop into beautiful opportunities (or "pearls"). I believe my clients already possess "the pearl." Like the oyster, young women can overcome adversities in their lives to become strong and beautiful. Through coaching, they learn to access and use that "pearl" to achieve the life they want to live.
Karen:
My goal each year is to positively impact the lives of 1,000 teen girls and young women (ages 12-30) through one-on-one coaching, presentations, and workshops. I look forward to YOU be one of my 1,000.
