The song was a hit of the original version from Nicole and Hugo. Only two days before the contest Nicole got jaundice so Jacques and Lily had to come to perform the song. If I believe other sites (I wasn't born yet in 1971, so I don't know it for sure:P) the original version of the song was already at number one before the Eurovision. And also nice to know is that Nicole and Hugo covered their own song four years ago - again it was a hit. However I think Jacques and Lily certainly didn't do bad!

AAh... Thanks for uploading, my friend! Also one of our better songs, good performance, so don't understand that it ended so low. The song is now a real evergreen in Flanders, and Nicole and Hugo still sing and make CD's.

You're welcome - and stick around for more! :-) Since you mentioned Nicole and Hugo, I know that they were supposed to perform this and that, due to (I think) Nicole being seriously ill, Jacques and Lily were drafted as a last-minute replacement. But did this song become a hit in their version, or in Nicole and Hugo's original one?
