Oxygene 7 by Jean Michel Jarre, performed by MEESHA.

I played this track of the Oxygene 7-13 album in my home studio using the following instruments:
-Roland JP-8000
-Roland XP-50 (with "vintage synths" and "keys of the 60's and 70's" exp. boards)
-EMU esi 2000 sampler
-Roland spd-11
-Roland JV-30
VSTi's:
-Korg MS 20 legacy
-Korg Polysix
Home made VST's (with synthedit):
-Evolution
-Scorpius
-Orion 1
-Apollo Stepsequencer

No samples from the original track where used. Everything you see me playing is LIVE!

  • Fantastic job MEESHA! I'm curious what is the thing in the background that has lights flashing on it, running from left to right? Looks like an analog step sequencer (but obviously isnt) Also, did you use presets on the XP-50, or is that your own sound? Great stuff and I will check out your own original music too!

  • @Andronicus2007 It is a Behringer BCR2000 which is controling the Apollo stepsequencer, a VST plugin that I created myself. The sound from the XP50 is a preset from the vintage expansion board. check out the video I made about how I created the sounds for this cover version: "Oxygene 7 recreating"

  • whats that little keyboard behind you called?

  • @modgemtb That is the KORG MS20 legacy MIDI controller.

  • Well, obviously I pre recorded the backing tracks. But all the leads and some SFX are played real time. I don;t think I will be performing in Norwich soon, but check out the live video's on my youtube channel, especially the DVD preview video!
