Jeremy Scahill, bestselling author and investigative reporter for The Nation, testified May 10, 2007 before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, on the impact of private military contractors conduct in the Iraq War.

June 2009 to September 2009, there was a 40% increase in Defense Department contractors in Afghanistan.

At present, there are 104,000 Department of Defense contractors in Afghanistan.

Overall, contractors now comprise a whopping 69% of the Department of Defenses total workforce.

Blackwater (XE) is currently in the running for a $1 billion contract to train Afghanistans national police force.

This year, we will likely see more than 220,000 US-funded personnel on the ground in Afghanistan.

Score: Mr.Brooks

  • They used black-water in New Orleans.

  • @fritzkat There are at least 2 people from Blackwatre/Xe that have been prosecuted for crimes against Iraqis. 1, Jeremy P. Ridgeway. He pleaded guilty to murdering an innocent civilian. Got 10 years. ;)

As far as American soldiers, 1 example, former U.S. soldier Steven Green who led a US unit which raped a 14 year old girl in Iraq before killing her and her family has been charged and found guilty, got life in prison. Do more research man. Just sayin. ;)

  • I think we can all agree that we should not have been there in the first place. The silver lining of PMC involvement is that it hastens the retreat due to public outrage. Try the government who sent or financed these operators, not the operators themselves. Rape is inexcusable, but when taking fire, you can either piss yourself, or return it aggressively. The first gets you killed; the latter gets you thrown behind bars. Every day our forces are there, they are forced to make more US enemies.

  • @MindCrimesInc And ferocious you are, Happy New Years, Next stop, MAR!

  • @SoulDalto Man, you're dense. Well, it's been fun, thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!

  • @MindCrimesInc Do you drive? Do you buy diamond for your wive? Do you hope for a nice sneaker and shoe? If so, you just support the cause for terrorism, XE are just a firewall, that's not free. but 100% proof.

  • @SoulDalto Solution? "Terrorism" which is open for interpretation, still exists and will continue to exist with or with out these degenerates being around. They aren't stopping anything. These guys just exacerbate the situation with their presence. Xe only puts more American lives at risk with their conduct overseas. There really is no defending what they do and have done. Xe, generates killers for hire not heroes.

  • @SoulDalto Yeah, I wouldn't attempt to provide any security for them. These government officials and public civil servants shouldn't be there in the first place. They put their own lives at risk. I guess this is where "monkey see, monkey do" comes into play. If they get shot, it's their own fault. It's about money not security. Time to take your blinders off and see it for what it really is. A business. Wise up, bro.

  • @MindCrimesInc but this being your video I should state that what ever the fire had been burning the cloak that was covering black water... They are the solution that was born because of the war on terrorism.

  • @MindCrimesInc Can you provide a better security to these government official and public civil servant operating in warzone? If you can't, then don't say stupid is as stupid does, I could also say, in this situation. Monkey see and monkey do.

  • @SoulDalto Why? Are you invested in XE? Got stock options? You on their payroll? What's to gain from expanding these psychos into other countries, besides the obvious monetary benefit? Which in my opinion is sick in the head, morally corrupt and should be illegal. There's a quote that gos something like this "stupid is, as stupid does" I believe this applies to this situation. ;)

  • @airtexaco I'm for option 3. End the privatization of war. Make that sh*t illegal. We don't need the contractors there and we sure the hell don't need to send more people/soldiers over there either! Get them the F out of the "war zone" also know as neighborhoods where kids play and people go to work to make a living, raise a family to be happy and safe. No matter what the stance is, we always have a bias. I haven't met anyone that's indifferent to war one way or the other. ;)
