T-Rex Effects: MUDHONEY II (Stratocaster to Laney VC50 clean channel)

There's something really cool about the new Mudhoney II. It's kind of a mix between subtle fuzz and distortion and sounds great LOUD. I've demoed it for this channel with both single coils* (this video) and high output humbuckers and to my ears it eats up both and has a lot of fun in the meantime. Then there's the obvious added bonus of having two channels (not stackable) and two degrees of gain for each channel. A two channel amp, if you will. Cool.

*The 2006 Clapton Strat I use has had the stock pickups and electronics replaced with Mick Brierley Hand Wound Pickups (see: http://www.brierleyguitarpickups.com.au) and 50's style wiring and pots.

How does this pedal cut through the mix, when playing with a band?

I was running this in front on my Marshall 6101 on clean channel 1. At the last jam. Really awesome tone with my Stratocaster that night. Two in one design helps a ton with power cables & foot print too,

What sells me on this pedal is the amazing low gain overdrive on the Strat just heavenly thick and tonal. And Jimi to boot. Now put a Univibe in front of that cleaner overdrive and watch the New Rising Sun come up.

sweet tones, it is not a highly compressed drive, not supposed to be, for all you too loose guys. I thought it sounded really good on the Strat, daddy like. This demo is better than others I have heard which did not sell me on the pedal. Now you have me back trying to decide what to get.
