- I think this day n age, what really makes somebody smart is being able to see through the illusion of this so called life we are living in. To see our human potential and what is stopping it.. You see, there are plenty of people smart enough to turn the gears, press the levers, repeat the doctrines, invent things, but are they smart enough to see the bigger picture? To see whats really happening in this world and where we are headed? That kind of intelligence is what the world needs.

Such a deep subject.
Most of these comments reflect degrees of 'smart'. Your dialogue reflects 'smart'. Smart, to me, co-notates speed of apprehension/sharpness of thought/quick-witted.
'Intelligence' is the real head-scratcher...at least to me

Like someone once told me, we're all like flowers and our petals bloom into their fullness in their own time. Main thing is we're all sparks of the divine ... so ultimately everything will workout beautifully so that we're all happy and at peace.
-
you are smart for thinking that way

A smart person is a liability, a disciplined man will do what ever you say, no matter the consequences.

I believe smart is the speed that an individual can process information. Just like you said either in mechanical, book, or streets. One may be street smart but doesn't have the "discipline" to study for a test.
-
I can´t define smart in any exhaustive way, but a belief in god seems to rule it out.

I sat here for 5 minutes trying to find the words to express my opinion about intelligence, but I couldn't at the time so I took a break and watched the link in the vid. The comment you posted said it perfectly, we are all the sum of our experiences, and I think it's the ability to think and analyze things on different levels and from different perspectives that makes us intelligent.

Add an eye patch on the next one. Might make the rambling more interesting.

Being smart can't be defined by how much one can memorize, Rather by how much one can apply these ideas during the thought process.
George Bush Jr. went to Yale. I don't think he's smart or disciplined.

Smart I think is your ability to discern or solve problems. Not necessarily the information you know but rather how well you can put that information to use in order to solve a problem.
