@75capriceconvertible Of course you can't see it, but when you look through any of the glass panes in the doors you can see sheetrock hanging from the ceilings of the rooms that are in view due to the water damage. The house would have to have a complete inside re-do. I guess $349 is not bad, though, considering it's impressive appearance and history.

@NDrLoR that is a crime... and I believe there are many properties people can't afford to look after any more. I guess the video sort of buffered the real condition of the place. These huge dwellings take astronomical dollars to maintain, let alone repair! I couldn't even afford to have the lights or A/C on!!

@sbd403 Thanks! It's really a treasure to our city and just wish it could get another family or owner who could put it back in good condition. It's a case of it's price not being that high ($300K), but it needs so much work and then continual maintenance that it's prohibitive except for the very wealthy!

What a fantastic structure. Looks like it's been very well-kept and the windows are all upgraded. With the exception of the back part, now that was just a little rough around the edges.

@75capriceconvertible Well sadly it hasn't been! It hasn't been lived in as a residence in over six years and it was vacated by the previous owner because it simply became too expensive to maintain with the leakage that was developing! The roof itself cost over $40K to replace about five years ago to stop the major leakage. It is now priced at $349K. Five years ago it could have been bought for $137K!
