The general rule of thumb is 4 down, 2 up. That means bend the first 2 stings up or else they'll kinda come off the fretboard. And the other 4 strings, G to low E, bend them down. Watch Doug Steele (aka Shred Durst) about vibrato.

shut up everyone he is hitting the right notes and the right octave... he is just playing them on the lower strings higher up on the neck, for everyone that says they are not right you are tone deaf. its sounds different because since it is the lower strings it has a more warmer/bassy sound. rather than starting on the 7th fret of the A string.
