I wish there could be more said about the idea that Taiji Quan or the Supreme Ultimate Fist is thought of as being supreme because it comes from an expression of the Eight Cosmic Changes (Bagua) and the Five Elemental Steps (Wuxing). These ideas come from Fu Xi's Pre-birth Taijitu/Bagua/Wuxing Trigram Symbol and Diagram. The postures or methods called the Thirteen Methods described by Chang Sam Feng (Yuen Dynasty) combines them all.
