MURDER-SUICIDE RATES SPIKE TO HISTORICAL LEVELS 9-10-2010

A scan of news reports shows these horrible crimes becoming even more common, occurring at the rate of one every week or two.

If that rate holds up, the increase is huge. The previous rate was one or two every three months, according to Rand of the Violence Policy Center.

A doubling in murder-suicide from one or two per day--the average for the United States--to more than two or three a day is also evident from my news tracking this year.

Most experts cited in news reports emphasize the correlation between the killings and the economic downturn. And in our book, "Death by Domestic Violence: Preventing the Murders and the Murder-Suicides," my co-author and I did find that unemployment and other financial difficulties were themes in whole-family murder-suicides.

This fact may help explain why in some places that have been hard hit by this severe Depression--Atlantic City, N.J., and throughout Florida--the increase in murder-suicides has been particularly acute, as indicated by my investigation of news sources.

first they say murder and suicides are up because of lost jobs and the financial economy is bad. then at 1:30 to the end of the video they say if your having symptoms of depression, anxiety attacks, hopelessness, etc THAT'S A SIGN OF YOU NOT HANDLING THINGS OR SOMETHINGS WRONG. oh so its our fault now that we are killing ourselves when its actually how the president isnt running this country right, and its also funny how this news station is trying to make it look like we the peoplearethebadones

@marvelstryfe they're saying that if you are exhibiting those symptoms, you're not taking the right proactive steps to prevent a drastic action. If you know you just don't feel right and you're having even remote thoughts of harm to others, you should not be blaming the president or anyone else, rather you need to seek help. That's what the video is trying to tell you.

@marvelstryfe What they mean by NOT HANDLING THINGS OR SOMETHING IS WRONG means you don't like being a hopless abused slave to the banks that are running shit into the ground, with no help from the government they own..
