De case Hagelander. A mini Opera. Jefke moet naar huis toegaan.

The Story :
His Lordship the Baron, also mayor, represent of the people, factory owner, representative of the church council, honourable member of the parish (and from time to time a naughty old rake) makes his daily round past his properties. When he visits the fruit shop he is robbed by a few poor devils who have a feast with his money. The constable is ordered to arrest three scoundrels. Meanwhile Mother superior tries o give a decent upbringing to the woman. But the story gets a unexpected twist.
A mini opera, for unskilled voices is not a simple task. The accompaniments are sometimes life, played by the actors, sometimes registered. Forgotten songs and folkdance are revived and put into a newly written play.
Why Hageland ? Jonnas drama school is set nearby this region. In the short while of this play we want to show an image of our own history, seen through the eyes of the common man. We show the heavy (child) labour, prostitution, abuse but also the feasts and culture.
