It's the downside to the freedom of religion. There will be wack job fringe groups like Scientology who use it as a mask for a blatant scam. Sure members can be arrested for specific criminal acts, and they have been, for a laundry list of crimes over the last several decades. But there's no real way to make the organization itself illegal or take away its status as a religion or the like. Besides if you do that you just turn them into martyrs and as fighters against oppression.

Just stating the obvious here: There's a a few reasons why it takes many years for a psych to earn their license to practice psychiatry (and the same applies to clinical psychology). One reason it takes so long is to protect people from harm. PROTECT PEOPLE FROM HARM!! That's what true ethics are about.

What the hell has Tom Cruise ever done to help the world? To think, he could've spent the money he used on Scientology "auditing" to help people that could've really used that money.
Scientology is about helping YOURSELF, not others. :/
