A great song sung well im one of the enemy within that thatcher talked about we had our day trip to orgreave but we were crushed by the forces of evil that perveyed at the time I have had success and faliure since but I am still a miner and a south wales miner at that and damned proud of it and all those who went before me, thank god for sunlight and fresh air. god bless all those who tried and died.

i was 24 years old in 1984 and full of fight, i miss my mining days and the lads, im in nursing now but coal dust still and always will run through my veins, god bless all the miners. BOB FROM WAKEFIELD.

My dad went through the strike in Durham and he is and always will be proud to have been a miner unfortunately in Maggie killing the pits she killed real communities still believe in some way its to blame for anti social behaviour no one knows anyone else when i grew up everyone knew me and my parents so couldn't get away with anything cos someone was sure to see

Lots of liberties from the original lyrics of this song, but I really like it. My grandfather, great-grandfather, an uncle and cousin were coal miners in Cape Breton Island.
