  • Singer is little bit shy, but ok! well come on !! not in the background!, bassclarinet, not bassax, unusual and the tenorman, yes super, in the right tradition, with the right tone. Where is Bude?? I'll come from Holland. Love you guys!

  • Hi wietsk2 - I am pleased you enjoyed this video -the singer Debbie is gaining her confidence all the time both as a vocalist and band leader. Bude is in Cornwall in the far south west of the UK. Andor's band was there in August 2006, and there are several of his pieces from Bude on YouTube. The bassclarinet player was Norman Field, John Bayne the basssax player did not play on this number.

    Best wishes - Mike

  • I particularly like the "buzzing bees" in the piano...this video is a trill a minute!

  • By the way the song is actually called "When the world is at rest" - Sammy Fain and Lou Davis. Very nice version can be found on Debbie's Lake Records CD "Thankyou Mr Moon" - Look up Fellside Recordings on the net to order a copy. Seriously good CD.

  • I dunno...almost two thousand plays and not a single comment about my amazing piano solo...a remarkable blending of the Etherial with the Barrel House. Why doesn't anybody recognise how unique and subtle I am? Farewell, cloth-eared world! Ahhhhhhhh Nick

PS Norman's tone on the bass clarinet is second to none and Debbie sings delightfully. She's not shy at all...just tasteful...where did that idea come from?

  • Debbie is in the background because she is a percussionist, too. And a neat tenor sax player! Bude is in Cornwall, UK, and is the centee for one of UK's most popular, week-long Jazz Festivals. Jon Stone
