What does a class 6 rapid look like on the Zambezi river? Check it out. That is a lot of water.

  • @h0b0768 Hey man chill. I understand your concern for the environment as I am the same way, but there is no reason to lose sleep over this. You gotta realize people are gonna do what they want no matter what you tell them.. To throw irrational comments like, "Fat ass redneck tourists" is taking your aggressiveness on a group that YOU don't like and is not a proven fact. Do you drive? If so, that hurts the environment more than this does, which also contradicts what you just preached.

  • SO much balls here.

A g5 rapid is one with a difficult line, and the consequences of messing it up = likelihood of major injury, chance of death.

A g6 rapid is unrunnable in most conditions, but at some levels a very hard line will exist, a mistake will almost certainly result in death.

The rapid one the video? A scary 4+. There is a very definite tongue flowing river right to left, follow that and you're away and clear. MTFU.

  • I love how youtube turns everyone into a goddamn rafting expert. You can clearly see several caves behind that ledge, so this is not a rapid you want to swim. Class VI doesn't mean that you cannot run it, it just means that running it involves a serious risk of injury or death at any skill level. That is a big drop, hard to tell how big in the video but my guess is 15 feet, which would be a massive impact. I think it could be done, but it would take some luck.

  • i think they call that class dead in the industry

  • ive seen tons of people run that drop

  • if there are no obstructions like rocks or trees then I'd call that a VI +

  • that has bad news writen all over it

  • That is so runnable. I can see at least two lines.

  • @TheC1 how can you say something is "unrunnable" in the future someone might do it, even by fluke, then what would you call it?

  • @TheC1racer

that is not true, class 5 is run all the time, even by commercial outfitters in some cases.(I should know i am A river guide) that does not look runnable..... but that does not mean there isn't a professional kayaker out there that could find a line on that thing, willing to bet its runnable at lower water. class 6 is considered extreme, only to be exempted by experts with safety set up and full knowledge of very high consequences:)

  • death trap..... awesome video.

  • Yeah great, show someone going over it next time.
