One thing I always teach is that your opponent fights back. There is nothing worse then these self-defense demos where the guy throws a punch and holds it out there. Always assume your first initial strikes may not do the job, always be ready to fight back! In this example I use simple old fashioned boxing to defend the grab. It's real, it works and has very little chance of you making a mistake.

  • Rodney, I have watched your vids the past year and a half and I AM FLOORED (no pun intended) the way you explain how to defend the jab and how you can use the defense when you go inside has helped me stay unhittable when I spar (tkd but jkd stance) can you post a video on how to weave when going inside? I still have trouble understanding it

  • @MrKeepnit100 when I have time I will try promise....for now I would recommend the Champ 2 DVD it covers all that you asked on there...you can purchase it off our store

  • This is refreshing.

  • This is real self preservation, I hear story's all to often of self defense courses teaching people that if they get grabbed to get your key and put it up some bodys nose and pull there key as hard as possible. Evolutionary movements Jab-Cross all the way!

  • Rodney,

Thanks for this...I have a big interest in boxing for self-preservation.
