The hybrid turbine combines an 8 foot horizontal axis turbine at the top of the tower with my twin rotor vertical axis venturi turbine that makes up the tower. The vertical axis turbine extracts wind energy from the tower section and it also provides structural support.
The turbine is capable of well over 1500 watts.
Will keep posted with actual results

  • That is exactly how the turbine works.

Very minimal drag as the air is "pulled" out of the way from the ventri effect.

  • Patent! Whahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Your missing the whole point dude! Oldschool thinking.

Its about shearing and helping each other! not about the money. Instead you should have a website with detailed instructions on how to build your turbine and save the world!

    Nice design though ;O)

    CC Creative Commons baby!

Build your own people!! Be creative, get ideas from the internet do your research! and if you come with a good idea... shear it! By helping other... you help yoursef!

  • @NerdsWannaParty Shearing is what you do to sheep. If you give someone something you share or are sharing. Another public school example.

  • Was thinking about this design a couple of years ago ..... nice to see i'm in the same ball park as others ...... counter rotating to get the elements of the generator speed up.

  • so impressed, this is what we need on every power pole around the world. yes!

  • Hi bigdbez , I'm thinking the swept back nature of the two turbines means it cocks to wind Y/N and me thinks you have been able to sheild the return of the blades [ up wind] with the middle aerofoil , which also creates a negative preasure [ eddy / backflow ] after the wind exits the fairing . Is this right ? .

PS, I don't blame you for not responding to the " sheer " stupidity of some of the comments .

  • sharing? I'n sharing my sheep with anybody.

  • OK - wow we have a lot of English professors here correcting any miss spelled words - Do you think he was being funny? DA's! Can't stand them. You could also get a pat pending it like $5 US dollar or one Mexican peso. (Ha Ha) {sic}

Anyways - Nice job I like it and think this kind of hybrid thinking holds the key to bring power to the people. I remember a term for human betterment, good deeds my friends. It would be nice to share this information openly... Thanks

  • Remember when you could watch a video without having to sit through a commercial?

Remember when music videos were uploaded by users and not VEVO

Remember when all the info was to the right of the video?

Remember you could rate a video 1-5 stars?

Remember the famous yellow subscribe button?

Remember when the users controlled the site and now corporations?

    WE MISS THE OLD YOUTUBE!

Post this in every video and lets start a youtube revolution!

  • @sanity599 As the Kiwi farmer said, " I'm not shearing my sheep with anyone". Hahahahaha...ahh.
