  • Can you tell me are your doing timelapse photos here or is it video sped up? I tried this but is looked a bit jerky in edit.

  • @brynmag timelapse is typically recorded by using stills put together into a video. It's important to make sure your intervals are close enough or consider 'dragging' your shutter. Google 'timescapes FAQ' I wrote that. =)

  • where can i find clocks like this?

  • I found mine at the 'recycle/reuse' center.. you can also find these on ebay.

  • man, I need a device like this... It would be kinda tricky, though since I'm using Canon 20D, which means it has to be connected to a computer - with a cable.

  • start poking for a telescope head with a clock drive... this little guy works fine with my small cams but I'm using a cg-3 with an RA motor for my D200.

  • Currently on the hunt for a windup clock to do this with. Had an idea for yours. A series of different size pulleys working up each shaft. This would allow for different rotation speeds. I've seen a lot of the egg timer doo-hickeys but I wanted something that didn't lock me into a 1 hour time frame. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • @milapse Ok Stupid question. I just watched your clip again and it is obvious. I worked out my edit issue anyway. It was fine after rendering. Thanks anyway.

  • rub a bit of baby oil on the o-rng to prevent a jagged timelapse.

  • Love the idea of a reversible panning unit, since it would be great to pan different ways for different shots. Hove you thought about a unit you could use away from a mains supply?

  • @joeo18 or you can get one from ebay for $20 or so, they look the same with same functions/parameters, I bet the components inside are pretty much from the same manufacture, I had mine for over a year and never let me down.

  • Nice!

  • brilliant, the only problem is I cant find a clock to spec anywhere
