I drove my way to work, singing along to the tunes on the radio. I laughed as "I love Rock & Roll" suddenly started to play. I sung along bobbing my head and tapping the steering wheel. 20 minutes later and I drove into our building. Our building was not that big, it just had 6 floors. I worked on the 3rd floor. I parked my car and grabbed my bag as I walked towards the entrance. I swiped my ID card as it made a beep sound and flashed green. I opened the door and walked into our part.
I put my coat on the back on my chair and went over to the coffee cart and grabbed a blueberry muffin and hot chocolate. I sat down at my desk looking at the work I had to do today. I kept pictures of Sophie all around my desk. They were framed; my favorite picture was the one drawn by Sophie of me and her on the beach. I smiled looking at all the pictures. My colleagues would walk past and say that what a wonderful and bright daughter I have. I took a sip of my hot chocolate. The office was cold at this time; the hot chocolate warmed me up. I rubbed my hands together creating body heat and I rolled down my sleeves and looked over the work I needed to do today.
I sat at my desk, separating files and putting some into the filling cabinet. I heard Joe come into the office. I looked up as my heart slowly started to gain momentum. "Good morning" he said in his sweet angelic, velvet voice and walked into his office. I bit my bottom lip as he trailed off into his office. He was just so perfect. His luscious black hair, his dreamy, deep, dark, chestnut, chocolate eyes, his perfect upper hard torso, his chiselled arms, it was to die for.
I leaned back against my chair and waited to be called into his office. I watched Taylor strut her way through the office. Her long, blonde hair hung in little curls, her fully pink plump lips, her deep, crystal, blue eyes, she looked like a goddess. But we were not friends, we disliked each other. Her desk was across mine. She knew how much I liked him and she would do anything in her path to make sure I was not with him, she liked him too. She set her bags down on her desk and glared at me. I rolled my eyes and continued stapling various documents together.
"Demi" the secretary called. My head beamed up at the sight of my name. I got up from my chair and walked over to her.
"Yes" I said in a polite manner.
"The boss wants to see you, he says it's important" she said in a quite tone. I smiled to myself and glanced over at Taylor whose blood was boiling; her jealousy was starting to escalate. I smirked and made myself to his office.
I walked up to his office and knocked on his door lightly. "Come in" he said. His voice had some what changed. It was not the soft, velvet voice he spoke earlier. It seemed harsher. I took a deep breath as I turned the gold crested door knob and walked into his office. I nervously walked in, butterflies started to soar inside my stomach. I suddenly felt my heart thumping hard against my ribcage. It felt like the first day of high school all over again, only worse. My heels making a click clack sound as I walked across the wooden floor board. His chair was facing backwards. I hesitated and sat on the leather black chair, I crossed one leg over the other as I tapped my acrylic nails back and forth against my thigh. I waited patiently for him to turn around.
He turns his chair swiftly and places both hands on the wooden table. "Demi, Demi, Demi" he said to me as he shook his head and closed his eyes.
I closed my eyes, preparing for the worse. This couldn't be happening. I've done everything right, I made sure of it. I opened my eyes, still bracing myself. I bit my bottom lip, hard as I hesitated "did, did I do something wrong?"
