I made this this slowish techno remix of Komachi Onozuka's theme (Higan Retour ~ Riverside View) on the spur of the moment, some time last year. "Electric" since it's techno, "River" due to Komachi's job of ferrying souls along a river... that, and the whole electricity/water thing worked out nicely, heh.

I've finally recorded a video of me playing the simfile (along with my SM lights responding to my keypresses, and a random scythe which I've had since some halloween before I even knew about Touhou), so I can finally upload the music with the video to here, YouTube. Background image by Yuuki Eishi.

It starts off sounding very electronic, but turns to techno with a few hints of rock (I guess). The ways in which I used the various melodies within Komachis theme is original (I didnt base it on anything, unlike my Unlocked Girl re-make). Of course, there are some of my own fast harmonizing melodies in here too.

You can download the MP3 (320 kbps) from here:

You can download the simfile (which includes the same 320 kbps MP3) from here:

The theme I'm using is CyberiaStyle 4. You can see more info about this theme (for SM 3.9), and download it, from the author's site, here:

  • Man, that is a really awesome setup you've got there. And a good remix, and a good simfile, hell, what's NOT good about this? And how did you get the audio so well? It sounds like you recorded the computer rather than a video through a camera or something. Crazy man, just crazy.

  • @roy491 : Thanks! =D

Yes, I was recording the sound of StepMania on the computer rather than from my camcorder, since I usually use headphones (rather than speakers) while playing. Often, I mix in the sound of the keypresses (which my camcorder heard), but since this video was also for showing off the song, I decided to leave out the tapping sounds.

  • Oh yeah! I got it, its all in the settings..I got stg 7 now.

Thanks for your guidance all along.

btw, thanks for sharing the song,

also, you're really good! I only got A- for this song.

  • I expect that's the thing. If I remember rightly, the default theme on StepMania doesn't allow you to set the number of stages up to 7 either.

  • Ah, I see, well just get to the option just now. but I only have max stg 5...>3>

btw, i use CS 5 -neo cyber-

    does that make a difference?

  • No, stage 5 is simply the fifth stage. After playing 4 short songs, or other combinations which add up to 4 songs' worth of play (e.g. 2 short songs and 1 marathon song), stage 5 starts. There's nothing really special about it - I just have "Songs per play" (in Coin Options) set to 7.

  • Oh, 'kay..I got the tremors..

so stg5 is = Endless mode? Am i correct?

  • It's just the 5th stage because I had played 4 songs before it. The screen-shaking effect is part of this simfile which I made. It was done by setting the background to a BGAnimation.ini file which I made, which contains a long string of commands which simply move the background image horizontally (change the x value) a little to the left of centre, then a little to the right, repeating. If you download the simfile (there's a link in the video description) then you can see for yourself. ;)

  • How did it have those tremors??

    the ones @ 0:58..

mods? If it is please share.

also, stage 5?? OMG please tell how

  • dude u can seriously make a ddr cab home made
