The 8th June 1974 saw Jon Pertwee's time as the Third Doctor come to an end when, having been fatally affected by the Metebelis crystals, he has to regenerate. I firmly believe both the original series and the relaunch are good in their own ways. Yes, everybody likes to goof on the old series because the costumes, special effects, props (etc.) were cheesy. Nevertheless, I felt the stories from the old series were top quality, just like the ones from the current series; and the special effects are incredible! Still, you don't need Grade A SFX or CGI to tell a story... they just enhance it.

@ZipZagginGallifrey I personally dislike the older series. I think it lacks alot of what I have come to appreciate about Doctor Who.

My Doctor Who is obviously alot different from what you consider Doctor Who in that case, but I am sorry. It's not just because hte actors were older, the lack of special effects, or the low budget. It's the story telling. It's not the same as it is today.

They are two different DW series.

I prefer the new one.
