In this episode Mark will show us how to get photos with that really shallow depth of field and typically overexposed to really blow out the detail in the background, just like some of the photographers that we feature on "How'd They Do That?". To see Mark's results with each of the different cameras, visit the AdoramaTV flickr page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/adoramatv/sets/72157626140048219/

  • @snupcho That makes no sense. I've seen incredible photos in videos in the past.

  • @SincerelyAND Well, you're commenting about pics that are shown in a video file that has been uploaded and compressed on youtube, so you can't really judge about their quality anyway. Plus if he shoots in RAW he would eventually correct some of the overexposure. Although I've achieved dreamy effect with sun in the hair and flare in the lens without using flash too. I guess Mark is showing the easiest way to achieve that. And no need to be harsh on the guy, he is by far the best lecturer on YT.

  • thank you so much!

  • When you meter your image do you take into account the flash? or did you just expose her for ambient light?

  • Thanks @jlive555, dreamy effect... :)

  • Thanks Mark!

  • thank you Mark. It's very informative.

  • @jlive555 Obviously he is. But that doesn't mean I have to mean I have to like the quality of the product. Photography is art... There's historical legendary artist that have pieces I think look horrific. It's subjective. To me, those images look horrible. They're overexposed. I've achieved "dreamy" looks without even a flash. It's not that hard. Overexpose the backdrop correctly expose the subject and it still has the dreamy look.

  • @SincerelyAND hahaha umm ok....this guy is a pro.he know what he's doing.

  • @henrystradford the background is suppose to look overexposed for the "dreamy" look
