Jonathan Groff sings Scott Alan's NOW - Live @ Birdland

BACKSTORY: Jonathan Groff is adorable. The first time I met Jon, before we even started rehearsing the song or anything of that nature, I asked him if he wore a jock strap during the sex scene in Spring Awakening, or if, ya know, parts where just out there swaying in the wind.

I am sure every girl and gay boy would have loved to be in my position, because A) the answer is, swaying in the wind, and B) Jon then demonstrated for me how he made sure nothing 'private' was showing. Nooooo, he didn't demonstrate on me (I am not that lucky), he demonstrated against the floor (clothes on, sadly). That was my introduction to Jonathan Groff.

I had emailed Jon to ask him to do the demo of 'Now.' It was/is a personal song for me and is the basis for my show 'The Warmth of the Womb' which is a song cycle I have been working on. It is based upon personal situations I have gone through.

Back to 'Now.' I needed the perfect singing/talking voice for the song, and the moment I saw Spring Awakenings, I knew he was perfect for it. Thankfully, he said yes, and said yes again for 'Dreaming Wide Awake.'

You meet a lot of wonderful people in the Theatre and Jonathan is one of the most kind and sincere people I have met to this day. He has wonderful character and I can see how young boys and girls fall in love with him daily at Spring Awakenings.

I love this song! i downloaded it after i saw him on glee and i just ignored it until one day i listened to it again and comepletely fell in love with it and him. This song makes me cry, I want a Jon Groff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Scott Alan for this song :)
