I own a Beneo FlexPod and Ball Mount and I've been using them for nearly 4 years. They are holding up very well and are used very often on the beach. $ 4 $ you get a lot for your moeny. So, by and Benro and save the extra cash towards a good piece of Glass.
Yes, there are the high end name brands, but are they really worth three times as much. I think NOT.

I ask the same question to Benro support and they answer this: "The difference is that the “EX” model is known as a “Flexpod”; this means that the center column can be held in a horizontal position. The A-297M8’s center column will only be vertical."
What's the difference between the HVC and the EX models?

@agc1976 Its all in the legs - HVC is twist lock, EX is quick lock

@benrovids From what I've read the twist locks are dust/water resistant but the quick locks are not, is this correct? is there an advantage of the quick lock over the twist lock other than personal preference?

@agc1976 Quick Lock mechanism is simpler so cleaning process is a bit different, but both systems work well for most applications. And once you get the hang of it, both styles of locking can be operated quickly, so with few exceptions, it is more of a personal preference.

@benrovids
Thank you...i spend 2 days of my life trying to find the difference.
The benro site talk about a different angle of center column.
For EX says: "Center column: 0-180° Vertical/360° Horizontal" but about M8 (HVC) says "Center Column Positionable 0° ~ 90°".
what does mean this?
Thank you.

@Pikkio7 Both tripods have 0-90 degree angular adjustment, plus the ability to reverse column to continue movement and go upside down which further takes the angle to 180. And both can rotate center column to give 360 degree pan. Thanks for pointing out two different descriptions of the same feature.
