I know that they were joking abot lance becoming a governor, but think about what would happen if we got an avid cyclist in a high political office. More bike lanes, less obesity, less polution, etc.

i think there's a lot more respect for the man in europe than you think. Perhaps in cycling terms, it's hard to grasp, because there are myriad cycling professionals who are idolised. Even in the TdF, there is tremendous respect for the man.
