This sail is finished but still untested. I changed the profile of the sail. See Junk Sail Building 2.

is a junk sail flat?ie you dont need to sew luff in it?

Not all Chinese lug sails were flat.
A flat sail that is as wide as it is high, can produce lift to go to windward.
A flat sail with battens, that is shaped like a lady's fan, can be twisted to get camber.
If the leech of a flat sail is shortened, it gets more camber. Flexible fabrics like cotton get bellied out by time.
Flexible battens can be used to produce and vary amount and position of camber.
