That looks yummy. I never put potatoes in mine. I have added potatoes to my arroz :) You remind me of my Mom. She used to crush her own spices in the molcajete. I take the easy way out...LOL! I used ground cumino; however, I use the actual garlic. I have my Mom's molcajete proudly displayed in my kitchen.
