  • Even today, I still watch this video and, I personally, think that guy is the worst "professional" I've ever seen. (AdobePC sucks)

  • applesoldier is right when he says time is money. So is stability, meaning less downtime for Macs as they are less virus prone and you don't need to call the repair guy in frequently

Pro studios have Macs generally speaking, Not PCs

I'm OK with PCs. I've no hostility to them. I owned them, however, I require stability and I can't get that with PCs

  • @jstettin1007 ...How?

  • @KeibearsProperty

    CORRECTION: It should read,

That is a type of profession but I'm SICK not suck lol*

  • @FoodMoTron3k

To be fair, he probably thinks professional as in Hollywood Post Production houses and studios.

That is a type of profession but I'm suck that people assume and lump that Hollywood is professional and anything else is amateur and not real professional work. If you have a boss, if you have clients, they pay you for your service(s) You ARE a Professional. Hollywood tends to do things on a larger scale but it doesn't mean others are not professional too, it's so stupid lol.

  • @arthmus01 I am sure that they enjoy implementing their games on macs, other wise they wouldn't really support macs at all. I know blizzard tries their best to get monopolies on the PC world. I also know that Apple has a Different API that's based on Open GL, but it really isn't. I am sure apple know the fuss over the fact that steam is now for macs and that mac gaming is growing everyday. Maybe in Lion they will add a graphic engine that is all put together instead of scattered.

  • @yzak100 Also OpenGL is only a graphics API, comparable to Direct3d, which is one component of DirectX. There are open source alternatives for all DirectX components, like OpenAL for DirectSound, or OpenCL for DirectCompute. All written in different languages and all without support. For most game developers the convenience of having it all in one collection designed to integrate perfectly with eachother and fully supported by the manufacturer outweighs the cost.

  • @yzak100 I don't know who told you that, but it's nonsense. On the Autodesk 3ds Max website there's a video showcase from Blizzard about how they used 3ds Max for all their 3d work on WoW. 3ds Max is only available on Windows, and is one of the most popular 3d modelling software in the video game industry.

  • @arthmus01 True but dude you need to realize that Blizzard for the past 10 years are using macs to mostly create their games. They test and make their games on both Direct X and Open GL. I mean besides the coding and programing everything is created on macs, the whole art team (Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo). Yeah I agree that their is no support for SLI/Crossfire, Nvidia's Cuda and PhysX, but Open GL is just as good as DirectX.
