  • this is sad ! she clearly has skill but the emphasise on performance has sullied the practice of the art ! this way of training is a typical syndrome of a lot but not all North American concepts of Martial Arts ! it would of been much much more pleasing without the music and screaming and of been able to watch her movements ! this sort of thing should be in a circus !

  • lol...

  • lol... it's sport karate and the division was required music.

  • she cant fight them so she screams at them,

she aint that fast give her a real bo then you would see how slow she is,now if she was that fast with a real bo then that would be something

  • she's 8yrs old... you need to get a life! this was a 'sport' tournament. get your head out of your a s s!

  • ok 1 she scares me 2whats with the robe 3why does she need to scream so much lol

  • not a robe but a gi top and hakama. she needs to scream because if she doesn't the judges won't give her a trophy! thats NASKA for you. lol

  • This new modality it´s kind of cool, but honestly I prefer the traditional martial arts, american hybrid arts or acrobatic seem unrespectfull to me.

  • actually the scream isn't just for show, they use the exhalation of breathe to add power to the strike. it also helps to regulate your breathing seeing as you can get winded pretty fast ;)

  • It's funny how much people chat absolute rubbish on you tube. Face it she is a great athlete but can you honestly say she is using that bo correctly? Don't look anything like the bo kata I've seen in okinawa good luck to her she was still entertaining but that was not a bo kata

  • What's with all the hate? She is VERY talented. The music, it's mandatory. The screams, are to put fear into your enemy. If you wanna talk shit, grab a bo, and show us what you got... that's what I thought.

  • crappy music no offence.

  • @Zoklor the fast, flashy ones are often very much like dancing. it is pleasing to the eye.

The slow kata are traditional forms developed for self-defense. repetition of either style results in bo skill, repetition of the slower type provides technique for actually neutralizing an enemy. it is nearly impossible to bunkai the super-fast ones.

  • this wolvovoy guy this girl could beat him to death with a pebble

  • I see a lot of these bo kata as really fast and amped up like this, but then some styles that are really controlled and a normal kata pace. Whats the difference and is it dependent on the martial art style?

  • wolvoboy probably gets his ass kicked by girls all the time!!!!
