@doogaman77 back in the 60s when we were running "dumps", it meant we welded a 45 degree tee into the exhaust pipe before the muffler. it had a pipe cap of sorts on it so we could unscrew it and were running like strait pipes for racing. no they call them "cut outs".

o miss these muffers bad. they were on my 65 pontiac tempest,3 inch with headers and an hpipe and a pretty nice cam.side exit also ;).i got to get them again.sound sweet and nice chevelle

What is this "too loud" you speak of?...
That souds phenominal! I've got a cherry bomb extreme muffler on my s10 blazer and people poke fun cause it's too quiet. Waiting to pass inspection and then gonna do a turndown off the muffler. BTW that car is nice! Your car isn't too loud, my computer's speakers arn't loud enough though.
-
loud my ass doont u want to intimidate the competition?
-
No turndowns are turndowns, dumped refers to running open mufflers, nothing after the outlets.
-
dumps are turn downs

Dont know. I wish I did but I bought it this way and the owner didnt even know. It doesnt matter now because I just pulled this engine and Im putting in a new 355 with a Lunati Bracket Master cam, Flat tops, and 10.5-1 comp. Should sound way better than this. As you can tell by the sound of this engine it didnt have alot of compression and I comfirmed this when I took it apart. It had domed pistons. I will post a video of the break in hopefully.
