コナラの葉に居たドクガ幼虫を物好きにも飼育しています。
Hairy caterpillar of the tussock moth (Artaxa subflava) crawling to find edible oak leaves (Quercus serrata). Late-May, 2007 in Japan.

    if u touch the hairs, u may suffer skin rashes.

    fyi, this species is called "doku-ga" in japanese, meaning a toxic moth.

    last year, i observed other hairy caterpillar which incorporated its toxic hairs into the silk cocoon.
