Walking On Air - A Jonas Brothers Vampire Story (5.2)

(They walk into Joe's house)
Joe: (walks up to Nick and whispers into his ear, then him and Kevin leave the living room)
Rhiley: (walks up to Nick, taking a deep breath) Hi.
Nick: (short wave) Hey.
Rhiley: So, um, about yesterday-
Nick: Listen, Rhiley, I'm really sorry about that! I would never, ever do that to anyone! I'm not trying to make up excuses, but it's what comes with this stupid deal of being a male vampire...
Rhiley: (nods)
Nick: (sighs) I really do feel terrible about the bad first impression.
Rhiley: (sees that his eyes are black) All you gotta do is last a little bit longer (lol) and then you'll be done with it.
Nick: (mumbles) I really do wish I wouldn't attack people like I'm some kind of... some kind of monster.
Rhiley: I don't think you're a monster.
Nick: (looks at her)
Rhiley: Much...
Nick: (smirks and turns away) I hope it doesn't happen again, that would be horrible.
Rhiley: Well I'm not completely defenseless you know. I'm also a vampire.
Nick: (turns to her) Why didn't you attack me back?
Rhiley: What?
Nick: Why didn't you defend yourself? You just.. acted like you didn't know what to do.
Rhiley: (sits on the couch) I try to maintain control of my vampire state. It only takes its form when I'm hunting. But, other than that, I try to keep it under control. And I wasn't acting like I didn't know what to do...
Nick: (sits next to her) So you really didn't know what to do?
Rhiley: Well, I knew that if it did get more out of hand than it was, I'd have no choice but to go into my vamp state to defend myself.
Nick: True... But still, why would you just bottle up all your vampire rage when you could've used it?
Rhiley: I don't know... I mean, when I'm hunting it's different. I can maintain it if I wanted to, the urge to drink. I've taught myself to control it because... (blushes) I'm too afraid of how I'll get when I'm out of control.
Nick: Oh... Well I think it's helpful that you can control it. I hope this, this, "urge" goes away very soon.
Rhiley: It will, I promise.
Nick: (smiles) Not to change the subject, but, am I forgiven?
Rhiley: (thinks) I suppose so.. Just try and control yourself next time?
Nick: I will definetely try.

--Rhiley's POV (After she leaves their house)--

Rhiley: (stomach growls) Hunting time. (Runs into the woods and climbs up a tree) Let's see, what can I get this time?
I started sniffing the air, I could feel my eyes revolve to a black color and my mouth twisted into a snarl as my canine teeth grew to a point. I could smell something in the distance. It smelled so fresh and tempting.
I jumped across the limbs of trees, getting closer to the seductive scent. I paused behind some leaves when I saw a grizzly bear, fully grown, feasting on a deer that was obviously dead a while ago. A two for one deal. Sweet.
I went into a pouncing position, gaining momentum. I then lunged at the grizzly, snapping my mouth shut at it's neck. It let out a loud roar in pain and shook itself free from my jaw, sending me rolling once across the ground. I flipped back up into a pouncing stance again as the bear turned to see me. I've never felt such an adrenaline rush. This was my first time hunting a bear, and it felt good.
The bear stood up on its two feet, letting out a loud growl. I snarled at it and waited for it to attack. It swiped it's huge paw in my direction; I dodged it and dove for its throat. I was able to bite it at least, until it smacked me away. I rolled away from it's jaw that was inches away from my head. I instantaneously jumped onto it's back, scratching it with all my might.
He let out a whine and I started to rodeo on it. I was enjoying this hunt more than ever. I snapped at it several times to weaken it. It stood up, with me still on it, and threw itself back against a tree. Since when did bears become that smart?
It pulled away and I fell off of it. I had to admit, that was a pretty smart move for prey. It was able to smack my face, and I hit the ground. I growled, and bit it's leg, then jerked away while he went to swipe at me again. I lunged and bit his other leg, then retreated. I bit his arm and jumped back, doing the same thing with his other arm.
I eventually weakened it enough and I lunged for it's throat for the last time. I clenched my jaw tight and I held it there until I was sure it had stopped breathing, then feasted on it, feeling very accomplished and satisfied.
