I've got one of the baseline models for one of these. For a car I payed 19k for, it's pretty damn comfortable to drive! Only problem is a few minute rattles here and there, but they're not permanent.
-
@shummyshum No... That's not how they work. They have a certain pressure of gas in them and the gas depressurizes at a certain rate.
-
but in other cars with a upward opening back door, you can try to open the door faster by pushing it up and it would only open so fast. i think the struts have a sort of air brake in it
-
@shummyshum Because the tire weighs too much. If they charged the struts that would have to lift it up with more gas then when the tire is removed it would spring up and hurt someone.

@macbooklover181 Get this. The Ford Escape and Jeep Liberty are garbage compared to this. I'd say go for the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine instead of the V6 though.

Im 16 and i want a truck do you think this would be a good decision i just got my permit and my top choices are this the ford Escape and the jeep Liberty.

i bet there are like millions of these in africa

LOL you got a lot better mileage. I have the 4-cylinder model, according to the computer I (along with my brother) have averaged 20.9 miles per gallon (we've had this car since May 26, 2010). We live in New York City so that may effect it. But I have been able to get 34.1 MPG on the instant MPG computer when cruising at 60 for a sustained period of time.

@Dyadantumbe its not a v4, its an i4 or straight 4. v does not mean "number of cylinders", it indicates the cylinder configuration
do dealerships just give you cars to drive for a week for free? do you have to pay for using these vehicles?

@thundertubing - The review cars come from the manufacturers, not dealerships. We do not pay to use the vehicles, nor are we paid to review them. We fill them with gas and spend a LOT of time washing and detailing (in addition to reviewing and filming). :)
