Syracuse men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim responds to accusations that star guard Gerry McNamara is overrated: "Without Gerry McNamara, we wouldn't have won ten fucking games this year. Not ten. ... And everybody's talkin' to me and writing about Gerry McNamara being overrated? That's the most bullshit thing I've seen in thirty years."

@catfisheddy ill give u the thumbs up because ur rite in the sense the Andy Rautins was overrated but there's a HUGE difference btween Gerry McNamara and Andy Rautins. Gerry McNamara was named 2 Syracuse's All-Decade team quoted as "this is the easiest selection of them all" because can even consider him as one of syracuse's best players ever while he was there. Obviously it's hard 2 say because of Melo but he could stil be considered

I admire Boeheim for doing this, but I think otherwise he's an overrated coach. I know he's won a bunch of games, but that's only because he's been coaching for like 50 years, and 2/3 of those wins are against preseason cupcakes. he's recruited a lot of talent over the past decade but his teams keep disappointing.
Boeheim's a good coach, but to put him at the same level as a Mike Krzyzewski, Tom Izzo, or Roy Williams is ridiculous.

McNamara was just always slurped by the media and fans because he gave short unathletic white people inspiration. and there's very good reasons that he isn't in the nba. like the fact that he can't jump 10 fucking inches and that that he wouldn't shoot 30 fucking percent playing in the nba. this dick riding of McNamara was offensive to anyone with half a brain.
