Lower gas prices would mean transit companies, would not have to raise prices. Then again we are an oil based economy, oil affects everything. Needless to say the Government makes waaay more money on oil than the oil companies do. Yey either way no matter who the president is, the government hasn't been using the gas tax properly to fund public tranist. Then again in Europe they take approximately about 65% to 70% of your paycheck away, in certain countries. It is what it is.

So, lets keep gas prices high, that makes sense, when drilling in sensitve environementally friendly manner, somehow does not seem to be a viable option. Look I'm all for alternative energy, but we aren't going to just get rid of oil overnight.

YES, keep fuel prices high and let them grow even higher. Listen, I'm not wealthy, this hurts my pocket too. But the United States Consumer and United States Business will only DEMAND that the federal government invest lots of money in research and development of alternative technology when their pocketbooks are really, really hurt by high fuel prices. This is also the only way they will demand their local governments make real investments in public transportation.

Yes, lets protest companies making 7 to 9% profit margin. That makes a lot of sense.

This rally was not to protest pretroleum companies. This rally was to make voters aware that Presidential Candidate McCain has over 20 petroleum company lobbyist on his campaign staff and has voted against increasing CAFE standards AND has voted to drill in the wildlife refuge of Alaska.

I believe that expensive fuel is one of the reasons Europe and Japan have working public transportation systems and the United States does not.
