Holy freakin understeer!!!!! Go back to the drawing board MEV
-
@chrssgreen The balance is all wrong..Heavy rear engine rear wheel drive.. rear driver.. no weight on front wheels.. hence bad understeer..
-
@TheConundrumb agreed.. that car looks like a right handfull..
-
under steer like a bitch and either that guy cant drive or its got a focus engine powering it...or both
-
ive really been thinking about building one of these, but its never left the idea stage,.. has any body heard of anyone using the 2.5 duratec engine from the cougar?

Video Coming Soon
Jumped through all the beaurocratic hoops and now it's on the road. Just in time for the old focus clutch to give up. Nothing like being stuck roadside in on of these to bring out the $%!?~# in every passing driver.
I've since asked and it was probably the sva inspector covering himself after a change in the rules about 4 wheeled motorcycles. Blitz buggies registered as motorcycles need to have sides. I was told it failed for no sides but it didn't appear on the fail sheet.

To be honest I'm not too sure on the full range of differences between the black top and alu-top type engines.. Although I suspect (I think I read it somewhere?) that the changes are only minor 'improvments' like you say :)
Anyhow - Thanks for the info!

Engine + management, and do a bit of research on the RWD-conversion part. The possibilities are there, just look at all the various Caterhams and Westfields equipped with the Ford Zetec :)
There's just a bit of modification to it, but that's all. -Not more than tolerable when building a kit-car anyways ;)
Btw, regarding the Black-top (plastic) and pre-99' Alu-top -versions; The Black-top had some minor improvements, mainly the oil-system. Better look it up for full details :)
Have a good one!
Just built one and put it through SVA for well under 7K. Including buying a new radiator because my focus had a/c. Plus some additions that I wanted (uprated brakes, sat nav, radar, laser and gps based speed trap detector, 1.8 engine, quaife LSD, plus more)still under £7k.
For some reason VOSA said it needs to have side panels on it for SVA although I can't see anywhere in the SVA Handbook that says so. Passed second time, with panels which have now been removed. Waiting for registration. :(

I was speaking with Stuart at a kit car show in stafford and he was saying somthing about the inside and outside technically being the same thing in the eyes of the SVA people due to the open frame... My guess is that the particular inspector was on a bad day!
Great to hear you have built one - any pics/video par chance? :)
