  • Thanks a lot to all for your comments. This song is a favorite of mine too. I´m to find out the name of the marvelous female singer. If someone could help me reading the kanjis, I´d be very grateful.

  • @JJodok The female singer's name is Tokiko Kato.

  • The female singer was Tokiko Kato.

  • When I first heard this song about 4 years ago, I decided there and then that I wanted to learn it, but it took a lot of work to find the original lyrics. In the end, I got there, and this song is now one of my favourites to sing and play on guitar.

  • Lake Biwa Rowing Song

    Lyrics: Oguchi Taro

Music: Yoshida Chiaki A passionate song about leaving a place that you love!

  • 1. I am a son of the lake setting out on a cruise Standing on the shore emotionally Being surrounded by spreading mist and surging ripples I bid farewell to the capital of Shiga

    2. Green pine trees and white sand along the shore A maiden of Omatsu village Secretly weeps in the woods of blooming camellia Over her fragile love

  • 3. Drifting among the waves We miss a red light at the horn of a pier Without having specific destinations We sleep on the boat Wondering where we are in the morning, either Imazu or Nagahama

    4. With a sapphire flower garden and a shrine surrounded by coral Chikubu-shima Island of old inheritance floats on the lake Young maiden, sleep peacefully In the arms of Buddha

  • 5. With arrows deeply buried in the soil Summer grass grows thick in the old moat Standing alone in the old castle Even Mt. Hira and Mt. Ibuki are like a dream

    6. Chomeiji, the Western Japan's 10th temple of pilgrimage Being far away from the unclean earth Let us pull into the golden waves Let us talk with peers passionately

  • A great voice is a great voice - PERIOD - and music is the language!!!!!!!

  • I love this song Just wish I knew what they where saying.
