  • The "young" Mr. Sundin is correct. The Goat Roast in the spring of 1975, which was a relatively small event, grew very large, and almost unmanageable by 1978. I do not know when it ended, but it is hard to imagine that the decisions of the students declined further than 1978 - as I understand, the farmer's pastures looked like the aftermath of a civil war battle the next morning, and Faulkner County deputies were lining the road back to campus.

  • Mr. Barnes is a year older than I, but I remember that the goat roast was revived as the spring debauchery in about 1974. In 1975 it was a big party held at some apartments across the street from Hendrix, and nearly resulted in the expelling of several of the organizers. By the late 70s, it had moved to farmers' pastures outside of town and become a day-long rock festival. Good times....

  • Interesting, but you didn't quite get the goat roast revival right.
