  • well I live in south texas (victoria) so I dont really have to worry too much about heating, A/c is something I worry about and it is a central system. My electric is not really that bad, about 150 a month with the wife and kids running it up all day. If it were just me, it would be 60-80. Of course heating a shop is a whole different thing I suppose.

  • 220v option was posted.

Main purpose is for racing events while camping. It surprisingly can run window A/C, fridge, lights, big screen, and charge other 12v auto batteries at 8 amps.

    Power is shared.

Baseboard heat? Or central reverse A/C?

Dam, your bill has to be killer.

I ran baseboard heat during 30 below zero for the Monster Garage as LP lines froze before. Killed my wallet. Shop, 20 miles from house. Are you in Palm Desert? I did once. Too Hot, plus bad attitude scorpions.

  • So your saying I can use a 2000 watt Honda to run any appliance and load needed? Will it run my central a/c? how about my water heater? They are both electric as I dont have gas hookups in my neighborhood. I think I will spend 4 times as much as the honda and get 6 times the power. If you get a good unit, they are just as quiet as a honda.

  • At 1/4 that cost, one can use a true quiet Honda EU2000i or Yamaha's, and manage any appliance and load needed. 35 years as Honda tech, and no amount of money bet will ever outdo their engines or tech.

You won't have 220 option, but so what. Your neighbors will never hear it running. And that can matter.

If you need 220, use alternate appliances for those short term outage. Gas dryers are still 110v, and use little power. Work smarter not harder.

Max cooling of fridge by cleaning coils.

  • Yeah, for the couple of hours per year that your power is out.

  • id like to see that thing run if they say its so quiet. and thats funny briggs and stratton making electronics notic on the pad screen thing theres a b&S logo lol

  • When Katrina hit, we went through a situation where we were without power for 8 days. After about 3 days of trying to keep our portable generator gassed up and running - and going without AC (tough to sleep, mold overran our house) - we decided to upgrade to an automatic Standby - we had a 12kW Briggs installed for about $4,000 dollars, I know that is a lot of money for some people, but it is the best money we ever spent!

  • Too costly
