Ah, life in libraries before computers (and long before MARC was born). My favourite bit: Doctor: "Do you have the sternaquoinamastoid and the pschomaticheadofthequadratisle­viaspriovis?" Librarian: "Yes, Doctor. Here it is. I didn't mind the research, but the pronunciations had me stumped...for a bit" [glint, glint...Are you watching, Mr Selznick???] Classic stuff!
