Celesta and Karen Davis grew up in a loving family. They shared many wonderful childhood moments and, at the time, thought it all was normal. But when Karen and Celesta were molested in 1978, little was being done about sexual abuse. Their parents' lack of action was neither questioned nor challenged, including years of continued social contact with the perpetrator, his wife and their two young children. This made for some not-so-normal memories.

I stopped watching this once they said that their dad was open with them about sexuality, and that they played with his penis. But this was not a form of molestation 2 them wtf? The friend of the family who made the 1 sister perform oral sex on him was wrong,but for the father to not do anything about it was worse! And why was the father letting his daughters play with his PENIS! Just because it was done in the open in front of MOM doesn't mean that it's not wrong. The DAD & FRIEND were sick.

I am a father of three daughters and I was disgusted with the fact that the girl was anywhere near her fathers penis. If you are a father and you have somehow rationalized this action by thinking it is normal and allows your children to be open about their own sexuality YOU ARE TWISTED! You aren't helping them. It is unfortunate that this girl then went on to be molested by Dads good friend.

IT IS NEVER RIGHT TO KEEP QUIET!!! They deserve to be confronted and charged. Stop protecting criminals!

To @whitewave677 Sorry Whitewave. Never have I felt the need for my children to see my penis. It is my responsibility to act on the behalf of the child and not place these body parts in their clear view period.This however is about sick self seeking parents and adults who allow this sort of thing to happen.We have a duty of care to the children and a responsibility to protect them and speak up when they are victimized.

@thefixer1952 They are talking about if your child sees the parent naked, or sometimes a father or mother bathes w/ the the child. ( Or even if your peeing & a child busts in & grabs you) Normal interaction, not perverse forced touching. Have any of you ever baby sat or worked in day care or even with special needs children? It's normal for a child to try and touch a boob or penis & you just give an age appropriate explanation to the child & gently guide their hand away.

I am confused by the critics of this film. There is not a right or wrong way to experience molestation. They filmmakers are on their own journey: enlightening, fearful, confusing. They do express their anger toward their mother and their father. They speak to the molester to better understand their father's behavior. Please. View with compassion. They really don't need their experience questioned. Simply listen. It is their story. Give them the power to tell it as they may.

As a counselor at a child advocacy center with who sees sexual abuse survivors (children and adults), i recommend searching Darkness to Light. Please go to their website to become informed of the epidemic that is child sexual abuse. 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are abused before 18 (these are just who report, so the number in reality is much higher). We have to understand there is not shame in being a survivor! You are not alone--please tell. We believe you.

Omg I can not AGREE with you anymore My Teelee!! I turned it off after I realized they didn't grasp nor understand their abused at their father's hand. Honestly which was completely bizarre to me.
