@Penitent1000 I use wire for all sharks. Blacktips will bite through mono in a heartbeat. I use #15 wire doubled up for Blacktips and #19 wire doubled up for big sharks like Tigers, Hammers, Bulls, etc...

So...for smaller sharks like blacktips and spinners you use mono leader and for the bigger sharks like bulls, tigers and large nurses you use wire cable leader line?
Correct me if i am wrong.

@BlacktipH dont you think thats a little overkill, the worlds best shark fisherman Mark Sampson uses 1 strand of number 12 wire for blacktips. blacktips dont have bigger teeth than a dusky, and a friend of mine uses mono to catch both blacktips and duskys

When you are using single strand wire, it's not about the teeth biting through, it's more the wire kinking and snapping. When some sharks do nasty head shakes, they might kink the wire. Two strands prevents that from happening.

could a leapord shark bite through mono

Anything with teeth could bite through mono, if the line is at the right angle in its mouth. Mono is made from plastic. I have never caught a leopard shark, but I would say it's highly unlikely for them to bite through heavy mono (200+lb). I would use 10inches of 100lb single strand wire to be save, with 5ft of 200lb mono above that.
