  • Alaska is such a calm and beautiful place. I will travel there when i get older :)

  • Hey,

I've never been to Alaska, do plan to go at some point. This is at the Fraser River in southern British Columbia.

  • The ceremony was beautiful, but in retrospect I have one question: Why was the eagle wrestled out of the carrier? At one point he was even upside down in his frantic efforts to get away. Why not let him walk out of the carrier, look around, spread his wings, and fly off when he was ready, with dignity and calm?

  • that's a good question. The way it was explained to me was that the man handling the release was not experienced.

From a practical point of view, while inside the carrier, the juvenile had his legs bound (I guess to prevent injury to himself and to the handler), so before it was released the bounds needed to be removed. But you are right, the process was cumbersome and not well handled. These people are one step above volunteers after all!

  • Thank you Keta,Ravinspirit and all those involved, it was indeed mystical.

  • yeah having the drumming and singing at the same time is really special
