A rare gem here, from the reissued Desperate Character (self-titled) cash in around the A New England period. (If memory serves :-/) Annie was a worker at Stiff Records who recommended and arranged a holiday to Kirsty during the end of her time with Stiff. Evidently it proved to mean a lot to Kirsty. And now this must mean a lot to Annie, bless her. This was originally slated for the scrapped Real MacColl album. Thankfully the more avid of us can piece together a lot of those tracks with gems like the Croydon To Cuba Anthology...If anyone doesn't have it, it pays for itself in one listen, and is one of the most worthwhile purchases I've ever made. A big thanks to subscribers and comments. This isn't my work obviously, but I feel the time used to get these posted has been worthwhile, so have one on me! Any comments and requests are welcome as ever. Enjoy, and as always... www.justiceforkirsty.org

The keyboard sound also reminds me of her song Berlin.

Is this excessively quiet for anyone else? I have to turn the volume all the way up, and it's still fairly quiet.
It sounds great otherwise, though.

Reminds me of XTC's song 'Towers of London'. Great Kirsty Maccoll tune as well obviously :)

Hi. I used to have this on an audio tape copied by a friend. Haven't heard it in years. A total classic. Everything I've heard from the scrapped 'Real' is good. I love the Croydon To Cuba disks. Is there anywhere I can download this. Would love it on CD. Best wishes and 'Tread Lightly'. John
