  • Why the heck does Meade build so noisy mounts? I mena, this is the top of the range model which costs a pretty penny! This scares me away! There are much softer models out there, and competition is fierce. I'd strongly recommend Skywatcher!

  • Actually, the mount in the video is a Celestron mount, not Meade. It is a bit noisy at the highest slew rate but so was the Meade that I owned last.

  • hello there, I just got the CGEM 1100 but havent taken it out yet because wether conditions, I wanna ask u, is it difficult to aling it or not? and what eyepieces u would me recomend to buy, mine came with the 40 mm, Im planning on geting the 2" celestron eyepiece kit that comes with 40, 32 and 26 mm and the 2x barlow, you think its a good idea?? Thanks.

  • Hi, the CGEM is very easy to align especially if you use the new feature called All-Star polar alignment. I think you are making a good selection of eyepieces. I would probably add a 10mm eyepiece to the mix. But the selection in your kit looks good. Thanks, Ray

  • Hi APTonight

Which celestron telescope is this in the video?

  • Hi, this is the new CGEM with 9.25" optical tube.

  • What I miss? Title says review.....that was a review?

  • sometimes when iam using my cgem it loses its accuracy after an hour or so,i just polar align it through polar hole and use calibration stars, also it doesn,t sound as healthy as yours (sounds weaker somehow, not as high pitched slew rate is at it's highest)

where do i go wrong?, i use an 120mm refractor on mine.

  • @Gunsreloader A true patriot, right?

  • nice scope!!!

  • Hi, I recently bought a CGEM 800 Edge HD and I realized that it is actually made in China, as I read on the boxes. Do you know if that affects or reduce the quality of the telescope parts or something? Because I think it's better if made in the USA. Thanks!

  • How much???

  • @andysim232

The CG5 mount is naturally quite loud at full speed. Its not broken or anything, its just like that. But the sound doesn't really carry, at a distance of 10 meters you can hardly hear it. The CGEM is much quieter though.
