The 38-year old quarterback wants to come out of his 4-month long retirement and the Packers have made it clear, they want to move forward without him. So Favre is asking his longtime team to release him so he can return with a different team. The Packers released a statement saying it will do 'what's right' in response to Favre's request. The Green Bay quarterback retired March 6th. But it wasn't long before he began dropping hints that he was having second thoughts. The Packers says Favre now has the right to petition NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to be reinstated. Then he'd be added to the team's active roster. The Packers' statement does not specify what the Packers will do after that. Trading Favre is another possibility.

@r3v3r3nd2008 there is no I in team...brett favre USED to play like that....but a year before and the years after the packers he was ALL OF THAT....either way the packers rode him like a 2 dollar whore thru the good years...traded him....which turned into Clay Mathews...holler...and won the SB....Brett the last few years has been selfish and not a team player.....i agree with you that at points he was....but a season is 16 games long....not nearly enough heart at the end of his career

@Damico07 dont even try to put Brett in Moss's category as a cancer... Moss is arrogant, selfish, and is not a good leader at all...
Brett has been everything you could want in a leader. In the past couple years, yea, he shouldve made better choices and just stayed retired..but for 15+ years he was the prototype of professional

@TheE3Guy Favre took the viks to the nfc champ. last year. If it was not for the "best back in the league" ha ha good chance they would have gone the big game as well. Better than Favre though? He has a long list of records to overcome before i would make that statement
