@TheAsianDownTheStree I was talking about the MK III's in general, not in the game, everything else you've said, is absolutely spot on. Glad to see fellow Halo fans who know more than just the game as it is.

@Axisoflords You've done your homework. but note that they did not have SPI armor on in the game. And that they were trained for "high-risk missions" and survival is not expected. Colonel Ackerson wanted to do more with Spartans with less money (because Dr. Halsey spent the equivalent of a new battle group on the Spartan-II's) thereby making "expendable heroes." and SPI didn't have shields.

@nikamungus Actually they reveal Kurts last name, i dont want to spoilit but u should read the newest halo book Glasslands. its post-war and it delves into what has happened and the truths of the spartan programs.

@wiikotom4 Never heard of him.... i know there was CPO Mendez who was their trainer.... Then there was Kurt 051 who mentored them in their training..... Maybe Kurts last name was Guzzman..... perhaps you were looking at a spartan II.... one of the last. =)

Spartan III's are weaker than Spartan II's.
The Spartan II's wore Mjolnir armour, Whist the Spartan III's wore SPI armour, which was significantly weaker in comparison. Spartan III's were sent on missions, and had a fatality rate of almost 100%. That pretty much proves how insignificant they are to the II's.
And Kat's death by a Needle Rifle was many a reason why they died, their helmet couldn't really stop a well placed shot. That is why John has lived for so long, he's the superior Spartan.
